Arsenal open Thomas Partey contract talks

Arsenal are interested in keeping Thomas Partey at the club beyond the end of the season, according to Sky Sports. Partey is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season, and the North London club are keen on tieing him down to a new deal.

The report has revealed that Arsenal have opened talks with Partey over a new deal. The 31-year-old has been on the books of the Gunners since the summer of 2020 when he ed from Atletico Madrid. Although the defensive midfielder has had injury problems during his spell at Arsenal, he has done well when he has been fit and has been used regularly and has also demonstrated his ability to play as a right-back.

Arsenal are unlikely to win the Premier League title this season, with Liverpool needing just a point to become the champions of England. The Gunners, though, have reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League where they will face Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
