Antoine Griezmann has signed a new deal with Atletico Madrid.
The Frenchman’s new contract will see him stay in the Spanish capital until June 2027.
Griezmann is the club’s top scorer with 197 goals and has made the eighth most appearances for Atletico, with 442.
Only team-mates Jan Oblak and Angel Correa have made more appearances for the club as a non-Spanish player than Griezmann.
The 34-year-old had another impressive season under Diego Simeone, scoring 16 goals and ing nine assists in 53 matches.
Atletico ended the campaign without a trophy, though, finishing third in LaLiga, and were knocked out in the semi-final of the Copa del Rey to Barcelona and the last 16 of the Champions League to Real Madrid.

Griezmann has spent nine seasons at Atletico, across two different spells, and won three trophies in that time. In 2014, he won the Supercopa de Espana, before lifting the Europa League, where he scored two goals in the final, and the UEFA Super Cup in 2018.
The forward started his professional career with Real Sociedad before earning a move to Atletico. He spent two seasons with Barcelona before an eventual loan move back to Atletico became permanent in 2023.
Griezmann has made 530 appearances in the Spanish top-flight, more than any other foreign player, and just six fewer than former Real Madrid player Sergio Ramos.
He will now be expected to sur the defender, as well as legendary forward Raul, who made 550 appearances in the competition – the fourth-best total.
His new deal comes ahead of Atletico’s Club World Cup campaign, where they face Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain on June 15, before fixtures against Seattle Sounders and Botafogo on June 19 and 23, respectively.
