According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky , Olympique Lyon have rejected the first offer sent their way by Manchester City for the services of Rayan Cherki. The negotiations between the two clubs continue, with the Premier League side now preparing a second one.
The attacking midfielder has already given his approval for the transfer to take place and is now waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement. At the moment, he is relaxed and fully focused on and their third-place match against in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday, where he is expected to start after an impactful cameo performance against Spain in the semifinal with a goal and an assist.
The 21-year-old has so far never played for any club other than Lyon, having risen through their academy ranks. In 2024/25, he made a total of 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and producing 20 assists. There are two years remaining on his contract at this point.
