Ajax expects summer moves for Van der Wiel

Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly set for a bidding war for Ajax star Gregory Van Der Wiel in the summer.

Ajax turned down moves for the 22-year-old in the January transfer window.

Chelsea and City were impressed at Van Der Wiel’s performances at last summer’s World Cup and are ready to go to war for the g of the right-back.

“We had to keep Gregory in January but in the summer we shall see,” a source at Ajax told talkSPORT.

“If there is a big bid from a team then it’s only natural we’d have to discuss it like we did with Luis Suarez.”
