Ruben Amorim is confident that Bruno Fernandes has not played his final game for Manchester United amid rumours over a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

It has been reported that Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal are weighing up a move for the Red Devils captain, who was the standout performer in a disappointing season.

Al-Hilal are hoping to complete a deal within the next fortnight, with the Club World Cup set to begin in the United States on June 14.

Fernandes ed 37 goal involvements (19 goals, 18 assists) across all competitions last campaign, with United finishing 15th in the Premier League and losing the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 30-year-old started in United’s final game of their post-season tour of Malaysia, which ended in a 3-1 victory over Hong Kong on Friday, but was replaced at half-time.

After falling behind to Juninho’s 19th-minute strike, Chido Obi scored twice and Ayden Heaven netted late on to complete the turnaround at the Hong Kong Stadium.

Seeing Fernandes leave would be a major blow for Amorim. However, the reported transfer fee could see the club cash in after missing out on European football next season.

Fernandes signed a contract extension to 2027, with the option of a further year, in August last year, and Amorim remained relaxed about the situation.

“I don’t think so,” Amorim responded when asked if the win over Hong Kong might have been his last game.

“I don’t know for sure, nobody knows, but I don’t think so.

“He’s seeing us take some action to change things and I think he wants to stay.

“He’s saying no to a lot of things, but he chose that he wants to win. He’s really young, he’s really good, and he needs to be in the best league in the world.

Asked if Manchester United would be able to turn down a huge offer from Al-Hilal for Fernandes, Amorim added: “Yes, we can find another way to get money.”
