According to Fabrizio Romano, the talks between Arsenal and RB Leipzig regarding the proposed have moved into an advanced stage.
The Gunners heartbreaking failure to win silverware in 2024/25 has mostly been put down to a lack of a classic striker, with both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus struggling with injuries throughout the campaign. Manager Mikel Arteta resorted to different alternative approaches, frequently deploying midfielder Mikel Merino, and sometimes winger Leandro Trossard, in a ‘false nine’ role.
Arsenal have also been credited with strong interest in Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, but it seems they’ve settled on Sesko as their primary striker target for this summer.
Standing 6’4” tall, the 22-year-old Slovenia international scored 21 goals and set his teammates up for another six in 44 appearances across all competitions for Leipzig in 2024/25. Having signed a five-year contract last year, his services aren’t likely to come cheap and there are other potential suitors as well, but Arsenal seem the most determined to get their man.
