Menez needs time – Blanc

Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc has urged Roma to give youngster Jeremy Menez time to grow.

Menez is one of ’s most promising youngsters and has been compared to Juventus legend Zinedine Zidane.

Menez ed Roma from Monaco at the end of last month, but has failed to be a success in Italy so far.

“He is a young player,” Blanc told Centro Suono Sport.

“He has huge talent, but until now he has not done everything that was expected of him.

“For me, to go to Monaco was the wrong choice. Last year he was injured, but then he was fortunate enough to find a team like Roma.

“Potentially he is a player who can win a game by himself, but he needs to be given time.”

Bordeaux will face Roma in the Champions League next week.
