PSV 3-1 Juventus (4-3 agg): Flamingo extra-time winner completes inspired turnaround

Ryan Flamingo scored an extra-time winner as PSV came from behind to beat Juventus 4-3 on aggregate and book their place in the Champions League last 16.

Peter Bosz’s side trailed 2-1 from last week’s first leg at the Allianz Stadium.

Nevertheless, after a low-key first half, they struck first eight minutes after the restart, with Ivan Perisic firing a low drive into the far corner.

Juventus regained their lead in the tie 10 minutes later when a free-kick was only cleared as far as Timothy Weah, who drilled home from 20 yards – with the goal awarded following a VAR review after it was initially ruled out for offside.

However, PSV hit back in the 74th minute as a ball into the area broke loose, and Ismael Saibari fired into the roof of the net to force extra-time.

The hosts continued to carry the greater attacking threat and scored what proved to be the winner in the 98th minute, when Michele Di Gregorio parried a cross straight to Flaminco, who made no mistake from close range.
