PSV held off Ajax to defend the Eredivisie title on a dramatic final day in the Dutch top tier.
Needing to equal Ajax’s result to clinch the trophy, Peter Bosz’s side made things awkward for themselves when conceding an equaliser to Sparta Rotterdam early in the second half.
They quickly put things right, though, winning 3-1 as their rivals ran out 2-0 winners at home to Twente.
It capped a dramatic title race, which Ajax had total control of before taking two points from their last four matches prior to the final day.
They did do their bit on Sunday, Jordan Henderson and Wout Weghorst finding the net, but were left ruing the terrible run that left them chasing PSV’s tail.
The defending champions were ahead after 27 minutes in Rotterdam, Ivan Perisic giving them the lead.
Gjivai Zechel levelled for the hosts but Luuk de Jong crucially put the visitors back in front just before the hour mark.
Malik Tillman added a late third to seal the deal and ensure the title stays in Eindhoven.
