Mohamed Salah has been named the Premier League’s Player of the Season.

The Liverpool star has been integral to the Reds’ title success this term, plundering 28 league goals and providing 18 assists.

Indeed, he heads into the final game of the season on 46 goal involvements, just one shy of the all-time single-season Premier League record of 47, which is shared by Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer.

Salah (269) is only seven away from matching Wayne Rooney’s Premier League record as the player with the most goals contributions for one club (276 – Man Utd).

The Egyptian has also equalled the records for the most assists (11) and goals (16) away from home in a single campaign in the competition.

In an interview with Sky Sports this week, Salah explained he feels this year is his best chance to win the Ballon d’Or.

“I would say I never had a season like this and winning big trophies so I would say this is my best chance to get it right now while I’m in the club because it’s been a crazy year, a crazy season with a trophy,” the 32-year-old said.

“It’s given me a good chance.”

Salah will aim to break the Premier League goal involvements record when Liverpool host FA Cup winners Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday.
