Watford want to sign Matt Ritchie

Watford are interested in g Matt Ritchie in the summer transfer window, according to TEAMtalk. Ritchie is leaving Newcastle United at the end of the month and will become a free agent, and Watford are keen on snapping up the winger.

TEAMtalk has claimed that Watford manager Tom Cleverley is “a big irer of the experienced forward and sees his experience and versatility in that he can play anywhere down the left side as a key addition to his plans at Vicarage Road”. The report has noted that there are other clubs in the Championship who are keen on securing the services of the 34-year-old Scottish player, who can also operate as a wing-back.

Ritchie made 13 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Newcastle this past season, scoring one goal in the process. He also made one start and one substitute appearance in the Carabao Cup and made two substitute appearances in the FA Cup for the Magpies in 2023-24.
